A Small group of women help the visually impaired in a unique way

Darshini is a charitable trust for the welfare of Visually Handicapped Students run by Adyar Exnora Women's guild.

It all began when the Adyar Exnora Women's Guild decided to concentrate more on one of their earlier projects. They already had some experience working with the visually impaired and chose to focus their energies on making their services more comprehensive.

"The only qualification Darshini asks of its volunteers is an aptitude to help"

Says Padma Narasimhan, president and moving spirit behind Darshini, " Individuals can make a difference. I credit the success of the entire effort to our team, absolutely and totally. The only qualification Darshini asks of its volunteers is an aptitude to help."

The love to see their "wards" perform well seems uppermost in their mind. The members of the guild, an off-shoot of the Adyar chapter of Exnora international, decided to branch out into an "all-woman enterprise" seven years ago, who work downtrodden.

The greatest virtues are those which are most useful to other persons.
