• About 25 students complete their M.Phil degree
• 2 students complete their PhD
• About 200 students complete their B.Ed degree
• About 35 students complete their diploma in Music

With a touch of love, not sympathy

A band of dedicated homemakers, all working under the banner of "Darshini", a charitable trust in Adyar, are making a difference to the lives of young visually challenged youth in their pursuit of education by extending more than a helping hand. Darshini acts as a window to their world.

IIT Madras,Darshini team up to help visually challenged students

"The computer is my eyes to the world," says a student as a dozen heads around him nod in concurrence.A month-long computer training programme organized jointly by IIT madras and Darshini, an NGO associated with the welfare of visually challenged students, has provided them a window to the world.

Lighting lives of the visually challenged

The recently organized camp for the visually challenged at IIT Madras was but a mere drop in the ocean for Darshini, an Adyar based NGO that seeks to raise the quality of their lives and turn their dreams to reality.

Unless we think of others and do something for them, we miss one of the greatest sources of happiness.
